End of the summer as we know it!

Whoa, what a summer! It's always a bitter sweet time when the last batch of campers leave.  

Goodbye to campers counselors and staff!  We all had a great summer, thanks for everyone who joined us!

Last Full Day of Summer 2011!!

We had a great day today, it started raining and thundering around dinner time, but we still got in a game of Muddy Mighty Mighty!!

Along with mighty mighty we had our Servant Fair, where all the counselors and do face painting, hair braiding, shaving cream hairstyles, blind drawings of campers, and wandering wisdom.

Yesterday the Roots went to Longville for the Turtle Racing Extravaganza!  From the looks of it, I think they had a pretty good time dancing!

Hope they won some sort of coupons cuz they look grrrreat!

We had some unusual weather here at LD today.  We began our day with super chilly winds, and then it decided to rain for a bit... then the wind continued until about 2pm (when we all needed to drop the layers and put some shorts and t-shirts on) and we're ending our day with a light breeze and sun.

During Ropes group time (team building) my team got through all our activities so we played a few games of  the ever popular Ninja!

We have officially began the ending of the summer... we're on our last week of campers here at Luther Dell. Sad Day.  But we're also excited to see all the familiar faces from Lutheran Church of the Master, Word of Peace, and Arlington Hills Churches!

Yesterday we had a nice evening full of eating, bible study, MEDIC, and worship.

Today we had a fun filled day, and great weather (minus the rain around lunch time)

We switched up our schedule this week and played Hula Launchers this evening, and these kids were so awesome at Hula that we fit in 5 or 6 games in one hour!

Today we held our first Coffee House of 2011, and it was splendid.  We had skits, musical performances and a puppet show.  

We had our MC's Wolfgang and Dog (more commonly known as Alex and Cat) hosting the show with very interesting and realistic (sarcasm) facts about the staff members...

We had a skit very much similar to the popular Harry Potter puppet youtube video...
