Snoodles and Noodle Hockey!

It's been a busy day today, trying to fit as much as we can into the last full day with the kids from St. Mary Magdalene, Grace, and St. Olaf!

This morning the Roots campers did the Golf Ball Challenge during team building!  It was a tough one!

This afternoon we played a game called Snoodles.  There are 4 teams and each team starts in the corner by a cone.  Each team starts with a noodle in their corner and the object of the game is to get all four noodles into your corner.

Each person playing has a sock tucked in at their hip.  If your sock gets pulled out, you have to freeze and wait for one of your team members to crawl through your legs to free you.

Our last Olympic event of the week was Noodle Hockey!  Each person has a noodle and the object of the game is to get the gator ball into the opposing team's net using only your noodles.  If the ball touches your legs or feet you have to freeze, raise your noodle over your head, and count to five before resuming play.

The game started with the chant: "Marie Wonders is awesome!"  Marie is one of the church staff here with the kids this week, from St. Mary Magdalene Lutheran Church.  Pastor Dale from St. Olaf Lutheran Church is also here this week!  We love church staff!

While two teams faced off for 2 minutes of Noodle Hockey, the rest of the teams took a break and waited for their next game.

It was another hot day today, so this afternoon we played a fun water game to cool off!  Drip, Drip, Drop is like Duck, Duck, Gray Duck but instead of tapping people on the head you drip water on them.   Then the person that you drop the full cup of water on chases you around the circle.

After Drip, Drip, Drop, we played another variation of Duck, Duck, Gray Duck.  In Extreme Duck, Duck, Gray Duck you sit in lines and if the person at the end of the line gets called Gray Duck, the whole line has to run around the circle.  The last one sitting back in the line is it.

For Olympics today we did Minute to Win It Challenges!  Each team sent up a representative to compete with the other teams.  Some of the challenges included:

Part 2 of the Olympics today was a game called Choose Thine Option.  In this game you have three options: buoy, dancing, and karate.  Everybody picks and action to do each time.  When the leader turns around an does an action, if you match the leader, you are out.
